The Alhambra from Spain

Started Mohammed I, the first king of the Nasriden, a Moorish dynasty in Granada, converted a 9th-century castle into his private royal residence. The quadrangular shaped palace has all the rooms built leading to a central court, adding up to 13 hectares with stunning frescoes and interior detail. The Alhambra resembles most medieval Christian strongholds with a mixture of castle, palace and a residential annex for subordinates. The Alhambra is one of the finest architecture in Europe with its finest marble pillars, geometrical ornament bands, and painted tiles.
