The Taj Mahal

Located at Agra, India. Prove of affection and love, this mausoleum was built with orders of Shah Jahan, the fifth Muslim Mogul emperor, to honor the memory of his beloved late wife. With white marble covers the Taj Mahal, it is the most perfect jewel of Muslim art in India. Translated as “Crown Palace” or “Crown of the Palace”. Taj Mahal is an abbreviated version of her name. The dome is 187 ft high, with a total of 28 beautiful stones, including red sandstone jade and crystal from China, turquiose from Tibet, lapis lazuli and sapphire and even diamonds from Panna. The composition of the forms and lines of Taj Mahal is perfectly symetrical as if it floats on air with grace and affection. The colossal height of the tomb, along with its pyramidal appearance, fill it with grace and make it seem to float or soar.
